Marketing Cheshire's Approach

If we all make a few small improvements, collectively a big difference can be made….

Marketing Cheshire committed to reducing our environmental impact and raising awareness of sustainable issues amongst the team. In May 2011 we were awarded GTBS Silver to recognise our efforts to be a greener organisation.

Since March 2008 the Marketing Cheshire ‘Green Team’ has continued identifying areas of improvement and implemented some great initiatives. This includes:

  • Creating and committing to Market Cheshire Environmental Policy (link)
  • Actively encouraging visitors to follow our Visitor’s Charter (link)
  • Reducing our paper waste by a third by introducing recycled notebooks, promoting double sided printing and send information electronically as much as possible
  • Ensuring waste is reduced as much as possible and encouraging staff to reduce, reuse and recycle
  • Using responsibly sourced and eco-friendly products wherever possible from recycle copier paper to fair trade coffee
  • Use of glass rather than plastic cups encouraged
  • Carefully monitoring travel and encouraging more environmentally friendly transport
  • Reducing our energy consumption by monitoring use closely and educating staff to make small changes like switching computer monitors if away from desks for more than 15 minutes
  • Creating facilities for recycling

We are always thinking of new things to address and practical and cost effective ways we can achieve this.  We would welcome any suggestions you may have on how we can make an even greener Marketing Cheshire.
